Who is this Sinobuhle Ndlovu?
Here is my story and I hope that it motivates or inspires you to make a change for the better.
My name is Sinobuhle and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I have battled with weight issues for most of my life. I have tried out various diets, lost a lot of weight but the minute I stopped dieting I would gain all the weight back and more.
I love cooking and love good food. Growing up in home full of good cooks it was easy to fall victim to the addiction of food.
My turning point was in 2014 when I woke up one morning only to realise that my size 40 clothing could no longer fit me. It was time for a change as my weight was also starting to take a toll on my health as well. I was suffering from migraines and always felt pain in my knees. I was so unfit and walking and climbing stairs was such a mission.
Due to my previous experiences I was not interested in any diets or quick fixes because I knew that the minute I resumed eating proper food I would gain all the weight back. To me it was pointless going the diet route because I was sick and tired of this yo-yoing and I knew that it would eventually take a toll on my metabolism if I carried on like this.
I wanted a diet that was sustainable. It was more of a lifestyle change for me than a diet. I decided to eat healthy while incorporating all food groups – namely carbohydrates, protein, vegetables, fruits and the occasional cheat meal.
My method of losing weight has taught me how to be creative and come up with different recipes. This is what has helped me keep my weight off. I have been able to still enjoy my food. To me this is not a diet but a lifestyle
In April 2015, Sinobuhle began to help online clients with meal plans, motivation and weightloss tips through her online account on Instagram @bodyevolution__ (which at that time was @lighthealthymeals). She realised that it was something she truly enjoyed and she saw that her journey was making a huge impact on other people.
She started coaching online clients and assisting them in providing them with mealplans.
After having tried out every diet that she could think of, she came up with a calorie based program that would assist her clients in losing weight the healthy sustainable way. Due to her love for cooking and good food, she began compiling recipes that included all the healthy food groups. Her mealplans include carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, vegetables, fruits. She strongly believes that a meal should contain all the healthy essential nutrients that the body needs.
In October 2016, through organic growth, Sinobuhle’s business expanded to a meal prepping business. “People started asking me to cook for them, because they lacked the time. I started cooking for one person in October 2016 and this service has grown into a fully staffed kitchen that cooks and sends meals to people around the country, often to places that I didn’t even know existed. It has truly been a humbling experience. I still pinch myself every day”.
Sinobuhle is positive, motivating and determined to help as many people as she can to start living a healthy lifestyle. It is her aim to teach people and show them that it is indeed possible to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating good food.
